ROBERT IHLANG POST 537  NEW LONDON, MN

COMMANDER: DAN PURKAT

Text Box: Greetings:
I think that most of us are glad to see July come to an end. We had the 4th of July parade and the Water Days Parade. I hope that you had a chance to participate in at least one of these events.
We still have the Relay for Life coming up at the end of the week, when we’ll have the color guard posting the colors to start off the relay; plus two funerals to present. My thanks go out to all that are able to participate in any of these events. This time of year it seems that we have so many things going on, that before we know it, summers over; so, stop and take a deep breath, be thankful for what we have, do something to help out our fellow man, tell a veteran thanks--and give somebody a hug!
On August 9th we have the Antique Car Run once again, so if you can, please lend a hand there if possible.  If nothing else, enjoy the steak fry Friday night and the breakfast at Peace Church on Saturday. Then let the Auxiliary know how much we appreciate what they do to help us too.
Unfortunately, this time of year also means that our dues need to be paid again, so if you hurry up and do it quick, it doesn’t seem to hurt so much.
Once again remember to say a prayer for all of our service men and women, wherever they are, for a safe return to their homes and families.

Respectfully submitted,
Daniel C. Purkat
