Text Box: Greetings: At the October meeting, guest Jessie Wersal gave a very comprehensive report of his experience at Boy’s State. Thank you Jessie for representing our community at Boy’s State. A new member, Bruce Olson, of Belgrade was introduced. Thank you, Bruce, for joining Post #537. Road ditch clean up was held on October 8th, with 18 people helping with the project. Thank you to all who helped. It’s great when so many volunteer. The Veteran’s Day  dinner and program will be held on Monday, November 9th. Social hour will be from 6 to 7:00,with dinner at 7:00 and the program to follow at 8:00. There is a sign up sheet at the legion or call in and make your reservations. The legion’s phone  number is (320)354-2284. The Little Theater is sponsoring a free movie on Veteran’s Day called “The Canteen Spirit”. This documentary is on how a community in  Nebraska touched the lives of 6 million WWII service men, with patriotism and hospitality. The movie will be shown at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm for anyone who would like to attend.      Remember the active military with your prayers for safety. Respectfully submitted, Marlyn Jacobson, Commander       On October 1st, we had ten members for the honor guard at the funeral of Bill Kidd at Hope Presbyterian Church. On October 9th, we had ten members for the funeral of Arnold Dengerud at First Lutheran of Norway Lake, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. He was not a member, but a veteran.      On October 19th, we had four members do honor guard duty for two funerals at the veteran’s cemetery at Fort Ripley.      We had three members hospitalized this month. Duane Barber had back surgery at the St. Cloud Hospital and is now back at home. DeWayne Olson had knee surgery and is now at Glen Oaks Therapy Department. Russ Alberts is in Rice Hospital with suspected pneumonia. Respectfully submitted, Del Chesness, Service Officer
